Nestled between rainbow mountain tops, Ambrosia valley has been the home of your people for generations. It's lush purple and green fields provide grains and nuts. It's white forest has plentiful game. A river of stars flows past your village, and is always sweet to the taste. Your people have a thriving, insular culture, but they are not unaware of the world outside their sanctified valley, for the rolling hills roll over hulking wrecks of ancient numenera. Perhaps they where machines of war, or perhaps they tended the valley long ago. Whatever their history, your people are aware that there are great wondrous things in world-- things that can provide and protect, and things that might one day endanger your beloved home. You are a Ranger. It is your job to venture forth from the safety of the valley, and learn all you can about the Numenera, about other cultures and peoples, and about the universe itself-- Explore, learn, and return home to live as a venerated veteran, telling tales of the great and terrible world of Numenera.
